Most Hated Running Route.

Add a comment! You know what, it’s all well and good being positive all the time but sometimes what everyone really wants is a bloody-great-big moan. So instead of talking about the world’s best trail run “when the sun shines through it’s like being in Heaven itself” (sickening) I’m going to write about my least favourite route. Here’s my love letter to The LBR.
I hate The LBR. I actually despise running along it, it makes me so stressed and tired that I actually can feel myself being injured. To me The LBR is like Vietnam (or at least what a Soft suburban British boy thinks Vietnam may be like) there are no rules, it’s a hard slog, and when you think you’ve won you’ve got the kick at the end. Plus when people tell me it’s a great place to run I scream “you don’t understand man, you weren’t there”. The LBR is so bad because I used to run it every single run. EVERY. SINGLE. RUN. I have not killed something so much since I put Maroon 5’s ‘Songs About Jane’ in my car CD player and didn’t remove it for 7 weeks (I still can’t listen to it now).
The LBR is actually Long Beach Road in Longwell Green. Thousands of miles from ‘Nam. It’s lovely green open area, just watch out for the 25 year old man running in Nikes looking like he’s sat in a bath of vinegar pulling his nose hair out, it’s his most hated run.
