Training for First Half Marathon
Firstly a huge apology for not posting for ages. September was a crazy month. I guess if I take a three week holiday in France in the summer holidays, I will undoubtedly pay for it the following month ie September. But it’s been an exciting month. New school term, new part-time job (on top of my existing freelance work), we’ve attended lots of senior schools open days for my eldest daughter (i had no idea what an emotional roller-coaster THIS would be) and oh yes did I mention I am training for a half marathon.
This will be my first and it’s going to be off-road. Yes I have finally set myself a realistic goal. I am aiming for the Forest of Dean half marathon in April 2012. This really should give me plenty of time to train and tick off a few more 10k’s on the way. I did some off-road running during the hols, and with my first autumn cold out of the way I hope to do lots more. I need an event to aim for to keep me running through the colder months. Has anyone else done the Forest of Dean half marathon? i’ve been told it’s a good one. Could do with some tips.
