Quick catch up on training

Add a comment! Since my last blog I have been putting in some miles, following last Tuesdays Bridge Inn 5k I have ran some 40 miles, I am trying to improve my endurance before I start looking at my speed, it is a problem I have had and the reason why my 10k times do not match up with my 5k times (using the old “5k time x 2 + 1 min = est 10k time”). I know there are some far better times in my legs for both 5k and 10k and I currently think its my strength and endurance rather than my speed that is letting me down, so that is why I am extending the amount of base miles I am doing, we shall see.
Unfortunately I missed the training session tonight, yes I am disappointed, but actually I need to rest my legs ready for this weekends Sodbury Slog, I can keep up some of the endurance work but I didn’t want to pull a muscle on the Coombe Dingle grass efforts. I have to say I am feeling a lot more confident in my running and my breathing even from where I was a week ago.
Training and
Bridge Inn 5k,
Sodbury Slog
