Add a comment! Recent speedwork sessions have been fun but I hadn’t seen j, one of my running friends, for a while so we agreed to meet up in Clifton for a run through Leigh Woods last Sunday morning.
It was lovely weather - gorgeous sunshine with a bit of a breeze and we set off in fine style. Well, we set off, at any rate. Going over the Suspension Bridge the tide was in, so there was no view of grey mud. When we got to the woods the trees were so lovely that we had to admire them properly which might have involved the occasional walk.
We decided after the run that we’d go for a coffee at the Primrose Cafe. I also had some fruit, cream cheese and nuts. These came with one of the biggest pieces of sponge cake I’ve ever had outside home. I’d like to say I left some on the side of the plate but can’t tell a lie - I enjoyed every bit of it and struggled to eat lunch.
We’re not certain how far we went (the Garmin signal was intermittent) and we don’t care how long it took. The views and the route were beautiful and it was great to be able to run in such lovely surroundings.
And the coffee and cake were pretty good as well.
