May races

• 1st. St George's 10k, Corsham.
  A mostly flat course with over 600 runners.
• 1st. The Pensford 10k, Pensford.
  A hilly circuit on closed roads through beautiful countryside plus great home made cakes and enthusiastic public support.
• 4th. Beer race 7.2 mile, Stroud.
  Undulating. Free beer for the first 100.
• 6th. Towpath 10k series, Ashton.
  1st of 5 races. Under the suspension bridge and along the river. Normally booked well in advance.
• 10th. Rose Inn 4 mile, Magor.
  Two lap race, fast and flat. 1st in a series of 4.
• 11th. Bitton 5k, Bitton.
  Run on the cycle track from Bitton railway station.
• 14th, Avon track & field, Yate.
  An open event with track running for faster types.
• 15th. Jack n Jill's Challenge 10k, Midsomer Norton.
  Rolling fields, hidden valleys, footpaths, woodland tracks, over styles and the odd river or two.
• 15th. Bristol 10k, Bristol.
  Should be a good one! Now getting up to 10,000 entries.
• 15th. Forest of Dean Trails challenge 33 mile, Coleford
  Hard to discern from this annoying website, but a 33 mile, a half marathon, and a 5k, I think.
• 16th. Berkeley 10k, Berkeley.
  Largely flat and run on quiet, pleasant country lanes. Post by Phil 11/05/09
• 17th. Self-Transcendence 2 mile, Eastville Park.
  One of a series of 4 races through the summer. Great fun and very friendly.
• 19th. Weston Prom 5 mile, Weston-super-Mare.
  Last in a series of 9 evening runs.
• 21st. Monster 10k, Bradford on Avon.
  In country park, along river and canal.
• 22nd. Keynsham 10k, Keynsham.
  A well organised race over undulating terrain - up to 800 runners.
• 22nd. Whitebrook half marathon, Wye Valley.
  2 laps on river bank and in woods.
• 22nd. Trailblazer 10k, Forest of Dean.
  A Runners' World event. "Wide, firm, and fast-flowing trails", apparently.
• 22nd. Cake race 5k, High Littleton.
  No medals but a cake for every finisher - yippee!
• 23rd. Hogweed Trot 10k, Chipping Sodbury.
  Friendly, mix of the fast and the not so fast on country roads. Post by Phil 18/05/09.
• 24th. Tyntesfield 10k, Tyntesfield.
  A new venture on a testing hilly off-road course in the beautiful Tyntesfield estate.
• 26th. DBMax 5k, Bradford on Avon.
  1st in a series of 4 along the towpath.
• 31st. Bridge Inn 5k, Shortwood.
  2nd of 4. Out and back on tarmac cycle/footpath.
