Hi everyone! I'm new to running - I've been running for maybe a few weeks. I've got to the stage where I can comfortably run 5k albeit not very fast! I normally go up to Clifon Down, and do a circuit plus a little bit in the middle to make up the distance but I'd like to try to run further - and I don't like the idea of doing two laps. Also I prefer to run on grass. Does anyone know of somewhere near Bristol with a good 10k loop that I can try? Thanks! Alex.
It sounds to me like you live near Clifton, so if you want more soft ground I think your best bet would be to run over the bridge into Ashton Court and Leigh woods.
But, unless you have a specific reason, I would not be too nervous of running on the road a bit more. Personally, I don't buy the theory that running on the road is generally bad for people - especially if your body has adjusted to running and the distances are not too great.
