Why this website?
There is loads of information out there for runners. Websites about this that and the other. But some tell us naff all, and others have got so much and are so complicated you could burn 500 calories just clicking round them. We’re only human aren’t we? So let’s keep clear and simple - and have a bit of fun along the way.
I can’t rewrite those sites - I’m afraid you’ll still need to trawl through them, but I’d like to think that with the help of this site you’ll be clearer about where to go, what to trust, and confident you are not missing anything.
For me, as a lone runner who wanted to get a bit more involved, it all seemed a bit obscure and intimidating. Still does really. I just want to create a good start point. And if that works, then I’d like to see if its also possible to bring all of Bristol’s runners, no matter how slow or fast, together in one place …
I’m hoping I can inspire you to make contact and tell me what else needs to be said, added, modified or whatever. Please get in touch. That way the site will be a better resource without me having to be omnipotent.
Ultimately, I’d like the blog to have about 5 contributors with differing running interests and goals (or no goals!). I think that would make it really interesting, fun, and inspiring…
